What Does Pazitive Mean?

My middle name is Paz, it means "peace" in Spanish.  I got this name after my parents met in the Peace Corps in Chile in the late 70s.  I love my middle name and wanted to incorporate the name into the name of my business.  My coaching program is built on several principles, one of which is trying to make better choices along a spectrum from worst to best.  These changes are all positive to your overall health and well-being.  After some brainstorming I came up with the name Pazitive Transformation which incorporates both Paz and the positive direction that you will be moving in.

What Qualifications do you have?

I have worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the inpatient setting for over 4 years.  I have a Masters Degree in Science, and have spent a large portion of my life researching the latest in health and fitness trends.  I help patients get through difficult times and leave my care better than they came in.  One thing I have learned to do is listen carefully to what people are telling me, and how to take this information and turn it into motivation and progress.

I am an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer, this certification is considered the gold-standard for personalized trainers.  I played ice hockey for the University of Colorado and have experienced training as a collegiate athlete.  I have had both excellent and terrible trainers in my lifetime and feel that I have learned from this to become a solid trainer.  

What services do you offer?

I offer both personal training and group training classes.  I can meet you in your home or mine, in a park or on a hiking trail.  One place I cannot meet you is at a gym as I am not contracted to work at commercial gyms.  Our sessions will last 30-60 minutes and will focus on strength and resistance training.  I know people come to me from all different levels and I am able to help both novice and experienced people.  Contact me if you are interested in training with a friend, I can accommodate groups of 2-4 and find that working out with friends is a great way to stay motivated!

I also provide personalized coaching to help you identify poor habits and triggers.  Once we identify these we can move forward and start building better habits.  This is done in person or on the phone and we will discuss a wide variety of topics that may be contributing to why your habits may not be working for you.  I am available to meet you in your home to help with environmental management (what foods are kept in the house, where you eat and spend free time).  I can also help you with meal preparation and grocery shopping.  The world we live in is full of tasty, albeit unhealthy, foods; you will learn to navigate this world in a healthier way.

No, I do not.  I do not sell or promote any product, supplements or outside programs/subscriptions/etc.  I will never ask you to purchase any products from me.

What should I expect in my first session?

We will discuss your health history, your current habits and set goals for the next session.  We will fill out some paperwork and figure out what the best course of action is for you.  I will also have some paperwork for you to fill out before our first session so I have a better idea of where we should start.

If you are coming for a training session, make sure to wear comfortable clothing to work out and get sweaty in.  You should also bring a water bottle and a towel.
